Kildare School

We were commissioned by Opperman Associates, acting on behalf of the Kildare Wicklow Education Training Board, to deliver a specialised visualisation package for a proposed school extension in Baltinglass, County Wicklow. The deliverables included:

• Verified View Montages (VVMs): Six before and after external verified views to be used strictly for planning purposes.
• Full Exterior Modelling: Comprehensive 3D modelling of the proposed extension exterior, inclusive of all proposed landscaping and site boundary treatments.
• Impact Assessment: The primary objective of the visuals was to clearly and accurately ascertain the visual impact of the proposal on the surrounding area.

Our workflow prioritised absolute precision, utilising the client supplied Revit models and topographical data to ensure full planning compliance:

1. Site Photography and Viewpoint Selection: We captured baseline photography near the six locations identified on the client map. These draft images were then shared with the architect for review to finalise the most effective and accurate viewpoints.
2. 3D Modelling: Leveraging the provided Revit files and survey site plans, we constructed a precise 3D model of the proposed scheme, ensuring every detail from the building facade to the landscaping and boundary treatments was accurately represented.
3. Camera Matching: We meticulously matched the exact camera metadata, lens distortion, and topographical data from our site visit into our 3D software to guarantee the scale and perspective were undeniably accurate.
4. Compositing and Rendering: The 3D model was rendered with realistic lighting and materials before being seamlessly composited into the approved site photographs, generating the final before and after comparative views.

We delivered a robust package of six verified visualisations that accurately depicted the proposed school extension within its natural context. These highly precise VVMs successfully demonstrated the true visual impact of the development, providing the planning authority with the clear and undeniable data required to confidently assess the application.
